Our History In 2008, to coincide with the 25th anniversary of the founding of the American Conifer Society, member Jim Morris was asked to write an anecdotal history of the organization. It was published in four parts over several issues of
Conifer Quarterly and was recovered and edited by member Suzanne Mahoney for presentation.
In 2003, at the 20th annual National Meeting of the ACS in Denver, Bob Fincham presented a slide show on the history of ACS and conifer collecting in the US compiled from his research and personal collection of photos. He called it “A Tough Act to Follow” and had as its soundtrack, the Peter, Paul & Mary recording of We’ll Sing in the Sunshine. Through the efforts of Susan Eyre, and with the permission of Bob, we’ve reconstructed it as a PDF. Although a sound icon appears in all the slides (which we couldn’t extract in our re-engineering effort) there is no background soundtrack in this presentation. Presentation: A Tough Act to Follow |
