Deadline: August 15, 2025
Categories:
Portraits (Conifer portraits – all or part of a conifer)
Critters (Conifers and critters – birds, bugs, and animals)
Landscapes (Conifers in landscapes)
Seasons (Conifers in a particular season)
Additional Info:
First-, second-, and third-place winners in each category will be published in the 2026 ACS Calendar.
Minor editing like cropping or light adjustment is fine, but keep it natural. Do not use heavy manipulation or add borders or text.
Submitting an entry grants the American Conifer Society the right to reprint or republish submitted photograph(s) in any of the newsletters, journals, websites, or social media channels published by ACS or any of its Regions.
Rules:
Must be a current ACS member. (Photos submitted by Reference Gardens must be taken by an ACS member, or an employee or volunteer of the Reference Garden.)
Photos must be at least 300 dpi. (Tip: Set your camera options to the highest resolution and picture size possible.)
If your picture file size is large, you may have to email each photo entry separately.
The file name should include 3 pieces of information: category, name of conifer and/or location, and photographer’s full name. For example: “Portraits – Picea abies Perrys Gold – Jane Doe.jpg”.
A panel will judge entries on originality, composition, technical excellence, overall impact, and artistic merit.
