2026 ACS Photo Contest June 1, 2025 to August 15, 2025 Contact: Bob Iiames Email: [email protected]
Calling all conifer enthusiasts! Whether you’re a seasoned photographer or just enjoy capturing nature’s beauty, we want to see your photos of conifers.
First-, second-, and third-place winners in each category will be featured in the 2026 American Conifer Society Calendar. In addition, photos will be displayed at the 2026 ACS National Meeting.
Categories:
- Portraits: All or part of a conifer.
- Critters: Capture how wildlife and conifers meet in their natural habitat.
- Landscapes: Show how conifers interact with their surroundings.
- Seasons: How a conifer or conifers look in a particular season.
Minor photo editing, like cropping or light adjustments, is fine, but keep it natural. No heavy manipulation or added borders/text. By submitting your photos, you grant ACS the right to use your images in any of the newsletters, journals, or websites published by ACS or any of its Regions.
Rules:
- Must be a current ACS member. (Photos submitted by Reference Gardens must be taken by an ACS member, or an employee or volunteer of the Reference Garden.)
- Photos must be at least 300 dpi. (Tip: Set your camera options to the highest resolution and picture size possible.)
- Photos should be submitted in JPG format.
- Limit of 3 submissions per member per category.
- Digital photography only.
- Deadline is August 15, 2025.
- Email submissions to [email protected].
- The file name should include 3 pieces of information: category, name of conifer or location, and photographer’s full name. For example: “Portraits – Picea abies Perrys Gold – Jane Doe.jpg”.
- A panel will judge entries on originality, composition, technical excellence, overall impact, and artistic merit.
- All judging decisions are final.
