Announcing the 2024 NewBroom Award Winners!

We are thrilled to introduce the five shining stars who have been selected as this yearโ€™s NewBroom Award winners! These talented individuals represent the future of our beloved cultiverse of conifers, and we canโ€™t wait for you to meet them at the upcoming National Convention in Cincinnati this June.

Noah Meanix, currently onboard at Longwood Gardens, has been making waves in the world of horticulture. His dedication and innovative approach have earned him recognition as an up-and-coming star.

Andrea Velez, a graduate student at Ohio State Wooster campus, embodies the spirit of both northern and southern forestry. Her advanced internships with Gardens Alive in Ohio have given her a unique perspective on conifers.

Shaueel Persadee brings a wealth of bi-coastal experience to his interest in conifers. Graduating from the New York Botanical Garden School of Horticulture and interning at Hoyt Arboretum in Portland, Oregon, Shaueelโ€™s journey has been nothing short of remarkable.

Joseph Krobot, another graduate from the New York Botanical Garden School of Horticulture, is passionate about garden design and ecological harmony. His focus on conifers promises to enrich our understanding of these remarkable trees.

Milagro Vasquez brings wide educational experience in forestry as well as plant propagation, agriculture with edibles, And currently in addition to her interest and goals with conifers is working as a visiting scholar on a Weed management program.

These award winners are new to the American Conifer Society, and we believe that their presence at the convention will ignite their passion even further. Join us in celebrating their achievements and exploring the exciting world of conifers together!
