The Western Region of the ACS is delighted to announce our Fall Rendezvous for this year. It's been quite a while since we all gathered, and this time, we'll be meeting to discuss and explore conifers. We have selected two gardens that not only offer beautiful sights but also the convenience of purchasing plants during your visit. Rest assured, payments can be made with cash, checks, or credit cards.

Additionally, we have an exciting plant auction planned at the second location in the afternoon. To secure your spot, the registration fee is $20.00 per person. Both gardens will provide drinks and light refreshments for your enjoyment.

This is a self-driven event; transportation will not be provided by the American Conifer Society or the Western Region.  The drive to Crowfoot Nursery is estimated to take approximately an hour. You'll have some extra time either to spend at Miller's Manor Gardens or to have lunch at a place of your choice. Looking forward to seeing you all there!

Miller’s Manor Gardens
9:00am - 11:00am

A small retail and wholesale nursery with extensive display gardens. Gardens showcase numerous genera of rare and unusual miniature and dwarf conifers, hardy fuchsias, rock garden and alpine plants, iris, and various other perennials for sun and shade. Over 15 years ago Millers (2006 Roger, 2007 Lynda and Nathan) left the long, cold, and burrowing winters of Indiana to pursue their living plant heaven. The garden now includes roughly 1000 different perennials ranging from sun to shade loving (not counting iris) and over 400 different conifers (Nathan’s specialty). The small front yard has become a bed for more miniature conifers like a very large Pinus mugo ‘Buttercup’ and Pinus uncinata 'Baby’. And perennials with our only remaining area of grass. Behind the house you will find two large contoured raised beds of conifers with a mature tunnel of Cedrus atl. ‘Glauca Pendula’. Miniature conifers are everywhere. Pinus heldrichii ‘Pixel’, Pinus sylvestris ‘Bexel WB sdl’, and Pinus uncinata ‘Hrock’ just to name a few.

Crowfoot Nursery
1:00pm - 4:00pm

When Paulie and Michael Seidel tied the knot thirty-seven year ago, conifers were not their primary concern. They dedicated their time and energy to raising a family and building their home, which took center stage. However, everything changed one early Spring when their neighbors brought home a magnificent giant sequoia. This awe-inspiring sight became their source of inspiration for landscaping their property. But they soon realized that achieving their vision wouldn't come cheap, considering their property's size.

To tackle this challenge, the enterprising couple decided to obtain a license to sell Alaskan cedars wholesale, allowing them to save money while beautifying their landscape. Their journey took an exciting turn when Paulie discovered that she could expand their stock through simple cuttings. As they cultivated and sold more plants, they eventually formalized their venture in 2004 under the name Crowfoot Nursery.

Since its establishment in 2004, Crowfoot Nursery has been offering an impressive array of 40 Coast and Giant Redwood varieties. They also feature Jerry Morris Witch's Broom cultivars and plants from the Davidson's, along with a few connections in Europe, making their collection of conifers truly exceptional.
